The Eastern Creek karting facility has been sold by founder and sole owners until now, Garry and Sandy Holt.
The new owners are experienced in the hire kart and entertainment business scene and have taken control of the facility that is located adjacent to the final turn of the Sydney Motorsport Park.
In a short statement, the Holts’ said ‘Its (sic) the end of an era, but the beginning of what will be an amazing new chapter for Eastern Creek Karting…its (sic) been one hell of a ride but we’re proud to announce the sale of Eastern Creek Karts.”
After an extensive process with the New South Wales State Government in the mid-1990s, the green light was given to the facility which would provide karting options like no other circuit in Australia. It had the ability to run three tracks concurrently and partner competition racing with recreational and corporate karting.
Launched in 1997 with Sir Jack Brabham on hand to officially open it, Eastern Creek has played host to many international events, including the defunct Oceania Championships, along with many national and state championships and multi-round nationals.
The facility has been probably best known for its corporate karting activities, which Speedcafe Karting believes will be ramped up under the new ownership, along with re-birthing competition karting to the facility.

The park had its biggest cosmetic change in 2020 with the launch of the Indoor MX Dome on the facility. The first-of-its-kind for Australia inflatable structure was installed, however was soon embroiled in controversy.
The Eastern Creek karting facility was the starting point for many of Australia’s best known racers including James Courtney, Mark Winterbottom, Dean Canto and the like and has hosted high profile celebrities such as Tom Cruise, Usain Bolt and Lewis Hamilton.
